  • When do I find out which room I am assigned?

    Surprise! You will find out which room you will be staying in upon move-in day. No information regarding rooms or roommates will be released prior to move-in day.
  • Where is the closest grocery store?

    The closest grocery store is Safeway at the corner of West Sacramento and Nord Avenue (north of Craig). From Craig, go east to the stop light and turn left onto Nord/Walnut. Follow Nord until you hit West Sacramento Ave.; you will see the Safeway Shopping Center.
  • Where is the closest bank?

    For your convenience we have an ATM right here at Craig, but there are also several ATMs on the CSUC campus, as well as several physical bank locations in the downtown area (within a mile of Craig).
  • Where can I buy stamps?

    There is UPS store on West Third Street near the Nord/Walnut stoplight.
  • How do I find bus schedules?

    The C-Shuttle Schedule, as well as a link to the Butte College Bus Schedule, is available in the Downloads section of the website.
  • Where can I put my bike?

    We have several bike racks surrounding all three of our buildings to use free of charge. Bikes may not be secured to any part of (nor brought into) the building. Make sure you bring a bike lock so you can chain your bike to racks at Craig and/or on campus.
  • How do I receive packages?

    All packages can be picked up from the mailroom during designated hours.
  • Do I have to move everything out during holiday breaks?

    During your lease term, your belongings do not have to be moved according to the guidelines of your lease contract.
  • Can I stay here in the building during the breaks?

    You are welcome to stay in your dorm room during the Thanksgiving and Spring breaks. According to the guidelines of your lease contract, the only break you are required to vacate during is the Christmas/Winter break period. If you decide to stay during the Winter break period you must make arrangements at the beginning of the school year; an additional fee is required. We cannot guarantee all requests.   • Can I move in early for athletics?

    If you are interested in moving in early, please contact our staff. We would like to arrange your accommodations by notifying our Maintenance and Housekeeping staff of your early arrival. If there is a space available for you for the time you requested, it will be at $25.00 per night/per person up to two weeks prior to your lease contract date. We cannot guarantee all requests.
  • Is there any space left in the Craig residence halls?

    There is a high demand for dormitory-style housing and space fills up quickly, so we encourage students to apply as soon as they are admitted to CSU Chico or Butte College.   • Is there a housing application deadline?

    No. Housing applications can be submitted throughout the academic year. However, priority housing is provided to students who apply early and there is no guarantee of assignment.
  • I have Financial Aid. How will this apply to my room and board costs?

    Although your Financial Aid cannot get directly transferred to us, a copy of your official award letter will allow us to customize your payment schedule. We require that you pay your deposit and first month of rent prior to moving in, but after receiving a copy of your official award letter we are able to defer the remainder of your payments until your award is disbursed. To find out if your Financial Aid will cover your living expenses at Craig please refer to your official award letter.
  • Can I request a roommate?

    Roommate requests can be made on the roommate matching form on the last page of your printed Lease Agreement. All suites (two rooms sharing a bathroom) and rooms are single gender.

    Though we can not guarantee roommate preferences, we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Roommate requests must be mutual between both students.
  • Must I have a meal plan?

    Yes, all dorm residents are required to have a meal plan. To get specific details about our various dining options, check out the Dining section of our website.
  • When can I move into my room?

    Craig moves all residents into their rooms through a specific check-in process that will start the Wednesday prior to the start of the fall semester. To find out which particular day you can move in, check out our Welcome Packet which includes specific dates and times.
  • What is included in my residence hall room?

    Each room comes furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, closet area with built-in drawers, and microwave and mini-fridge. Each student has an Ethernet port for a high-speed internet connection and cable television is provided.
  • What size are the beds?

    The beds are XL Twin, so bring sheets/blankets accordingly.
  • What should I bring in the fall?

    Students should bring linens, towels, pillows, and any personal items they may have. For more info check out the Welcome Packet found on the Downloads section of the website.
  • What should I leave at home?

    Candles, toasters, George Foreman grills, portable heaters, pets, weapons, or illegal substances are not allowed in any residence halls. All halls are smoke-free. For more info check out the Welcome Packet found on the Downloads section of the website.
  • Are laundry facilities available and how much does a load cost?

    Laundry facilities are available in each residence hall. Laundry rates are currently $1.25 for a wash and $1.25 for a dry. All residence hall laundry facilities require quarters.
  • What computer access is available at Craig?

    Each student has an Internet connection in their residence hall room. In addition, there is a community computer lab located in Abbey Hall and wireless internet access in the dining hall, coffee shop, and in each building lobby.
